Albert is the founding Director of the Innovation Growth Lab (IGL). Since joining Nesta in 2007, his work has been at the intersection of innovation, growth and finance. Prior to setting up the Innovation Growth Lab, he was senior economist and led two of Nesta’s major research programmes in this area, one exploring business growth dynamics and its drivers in the UK and internationally, the other examining the contribution of intangible assets to productivity growth.

Andrea Di Anselmo
Andrea Di Anselmo is a founding member of META. He has more than 25 years of experience in innovation and startup support gained participating to international projects and influencing strategic addresses as member of the BoD of intermediary organizations, research institutes, Business Angels Networks and SMEs. He is in the Board of Directors of META Ventures, the management company operating the Ingenium seed funds in Italy, Slovenia and Poland. He is the Vice President of INSME, the International Association of SMEs
Johnson is an Economist specialized in international trade and development. His work as the International Coordinator of the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia has brought him to work with European cohesion policies and smart specialization. He is currently involved in different international partnerships learning on smart specialization and policy development for the Green Deal. He has a long experience working as a short- and long-term statistical advisor on constructing systems for National Accounts in different countries in Africa, Mid-East, South-East Asia and in South America.
Anita Tregner is a Senior Consultant and Policy Expert at META Group, based in Bruxelles, with more than 15 years of work experience in various sectors and has long-lasting experience in management and implementation of EU and international projects. Owing to vast EU projects’ experience dating from FP6, particularly in the field of research and innovation, Anita is a recognized expert in the field of European policies, internationalisation practices and advocacy, with a good track record of projects.
Jaime del Castillo
President of Infyde and Professor of Applied Economy at University of the Basque Country (1976-2017), Jaime del Castillo is a well-known expert with more than 25 years of experience at national and international level in the fields of Regional Development and Innovation analysis and strategies, the definition of training and employment policies, and in the feasibility analysis and implementation of intermediate infrastructures as Technological Parks, Technological Centres and Incubators.
Head of Europe and International Area of ART-ER, Valeria coordinates activities aiming at promoting and connecting the regional research and innovation system, providing regional stakeholders with information and services to participate to European programmes, projects and networks and to develop international relations. Valeria has been designing and managing a number of EC funded projects and internationalisation programmes for over 25 years. Graduated with Honours in Economics and Business Administration at the Bologna University, she holds post graduate degrees on local development and on international cooperation.
Sergio Pérez García is the Director General for Foreign Affairs of the Government of Navarra. He is an expert in project management and European R&D networks at the EISMEA (former Executive Agency for SMEs of the European Commission). He also has experience in managing the Enterprise Europe Network of the European Commission, through advising European funds (H2020 and European Horizon programs) and collaborating for the internationalization of Navarrese technology. He used to be the Ambassador Coordinator of the European IP Helpdesk Ambassadors of the European IP Helpdesk, the EISMEA´s European Intellectual Property Assistance Service.
Ms Borislava Woodford is a Policy Analyst at the New European Bauhaus Initiative Team run under the auspices of the President of the European Commission Mrs Ursula von der Leyen. She has over 12 years of experience in the field of EU structural and investment funds in several different units of the Commission’s Directorate for Regional and Urban Development, focusing on working with local and regional authorities for creating project pipelines and EU funds management. Back in 2019, she had a short stint at the Cabinet of Corina Cretu, former Commissioner for regional policy and was part of the team negotiating the European Regional Development Fund Regulation for 2021-2027 in Council and Parliament.
